(1.0) INSTALLATION

VB6 run-time library are required by this program and can be downloaded here: http://www.lords-of-the-bytes.com/ja2/files/Vbrun60.exe (1mb)
Extract the zip-file to any directory. If you would like the german descriptions rename desc.txt to something like desc.eng and rename desc.ger to desc.txt. Courtesy of Guerillero.

(2.0) COMPUTER REQUIREMENTS

Operating System: Windows(R) 95/98 (or higher)
Ca. 5 MB free hard drive space
Input Device: 100% Windows(R) 95/98 (or higher) compatible mouse
Jagged Alliance 2 and/or Jagged Alliance 2.5: Unfinished Business

(3.0) Manual

I developed this program for people who make mods and/or campaigns for Jagged Alliance 2 and/or Jagged Alliance 2.5: Unfinished Business. If you are not familiar with (modifying) these games I recommend you to learn more about how it works before you start working with this program.
Use this program to edit JA2SET.DAT, a file used by JA2/JA2UB to initialize tilesets. JA2SET.DAT is located inside BinaryData.slf, go to http://ja-galaxy.com to download an slf-extractor, then place JA2SET.DAT in the BinaryData subfolder of the DATA folder in the game-directory.
On the left side of the screen is a box which displays the tilesets. To change the name of a tileset double click on it. You will see that tilesets 1 through 49 originate from tileset 0 which means that the empty entry's (in the box on the right) are replaced by the entry's from tileset 0 by the game. When handling a JA2SET.DAT file from UB you will see that the same thing happens for entry's above 49; tilesets 51 through 69 originate from tileset 50.
On the right side of the screen is a box with all entry's categorized as you would see them in the UB-Editor (I have also used the pictures from the editor to make it easier to recognize). Here you must also double click to rename an entry. In front of every entry is a black dot, if the dot is marked 's' then the entry is used as a shadow for the above entry. Right of the box is a toolbar with once again all the pictures from the UB-Editor, if you click on one of these buttons the corresponding category will be made visible and expanded.

NB. For instruction on using Snap's TileInstall & TileNo please view the readme-files in their directory's.

(6.0) Technical Support (sort of...)

NB. You can't use a Jagged Alliance 2 JA2SET.DAT file for Jagged Alliance 2: Unfinished Business (or the other way around.) JA2TSE can create new files with a unusual amount of tilesets for the purpose of creating a library, and it can also handle files with an incorrect amount of entry's, but this serves no purpose. This feature is present to accomodate for any future (unofficial) patches to the game.

If you have a technical problem concerning the operation of this program, please browse the forums at http://www.ja-galaxy-forum.com and http://www.lords-of-the-bytes.com before contacting me. For german support one can visit the Jagged Alliance 2 Basis (http://ja.gamigo.de/), as I do not communicate in German. A Tileset Tutorial (in german) made by Guerillero can also be found there.
Please also visit my site. When you contact me please give as much information as possible, like your Windows version, JA2/JA2UB version, what action you are trying to perform, what went wrong and which response JA2TSE gave you.
